“Really?” Gia cut her eyes at Triple C’s. “Could y’all have been a little more original?”
They were in the elevator, going up to their suite at the Ritz-Carlton in Miami, Florida. On the flight over, he’d revealed that Kenyatta would be there, and she’d slapped him, so now, not only was she annoyed, but her hand hurt as well.
Triple C’s ran his tongue over his teeth, still salty about being slapped, but he had let her make it because he did lie. “You can pick next time.”
“There won’t be a next time,” she rolled her eyes.
“Can you at least try to have fun, please. Don’t fuck up a perfectly good vacation with your attitude.”
“You knew I’d have this attitude before you brought me, but you did anyway, so deal with it!” she gritted. While he was worried about having a good time, and making sure he was seen in Miami for his alibi, she was worried about how she was going to handle Symphony. She felt like a horrible friend. They never did anything behind each other’s backs, so she was feeling all types of resentment towards Triple C’s…mixed with what she thought was love, of course, so she made up her mind to not slap the shit out of him again.
“Come on. Let’s get this shit over with,” Triple C’s spoke, leading her off the elevator and to a room that she knew wasn’t theirs, so she knew had to be Kenyatta’s.
He knocked on the door, and when Amor opened it, it took everything in Gia not to slap the shit out of her. There was no way that Triple C’s was going to force her to play nice with Amor, no way at all.
“Hey Gia,” Amor smiled, shocked to see her.
Gia walked right past her without uttering a word. Kenyatta walked out of the bedroom in only a pair of gray sweatpants, and when their eyes met, whatever he was about to say, suddenly wasn’t so important anymore.
“Aiight. You can go to the suite,” Triple C’s said to her, handing her the key card. He’d only wanted her there for Kenyatta to see; their conversation would take place in private.
“Go with her,” Kenyatta told Amor.
Gia snatched the key from Triple C’s and walked out the room without so much as a ‘hello’ to Kenyatta. She didn’t understand why they needed to be in the same place to make their alibi’s work. She felt that she and Triple C’s could have gone to an entirely different city than Kenyatta and Amor, and if he ever wanted her to go anywhere with him again, that’s exactly what was going to happen.
Amor followed her to her door, and once she’d opened it, she turned to glare up at her. “You got me all kinds of fucked up if you think you’re coming in here. You better take yo’ ass to the lobby!” and with that, she slammed her door in Amor’s face.
Triple C’s stared at Kenyatta, who hadn’t moved since Gia and Amor had left.
